Caravan Insurance Renewal Checklist

A renewal is a useful prompt to check what has changed, not just whether the premium has gone up or down.

Read the New Schedule

  • insured caravan and registration details
  • agreed or market value basis
  • listed accessories and modifications
  • contents and annexe amounts
  • basic and additional excesses
  • premium, fees and payment frequency

What Has Changed?

Check whether the insurer needs to be told about changes to storage, use, onsite placement, off-road travel, hiring, renovations, accessories or modifications. Answer any renewal questions accurately and check the current policy requirements. Review your contents inventory and estimated values, and keep a note of valuable additions.

Check More Than the Price

Compare limits for towing, recovery, emergency accommodation, contents and new replacement. Check road and geographical restrictions, security requirements, maintenance exclusions and changes to the policy terms or documents. If you obtain other quotes, provide the same facts and compare the same value and excess where possible.

Before You Renew

  1. Save the renewal schedule and current policy documents.
  2. Ask questions about any unfamiliar change.
  3. Update your inventory and photographs.
  4. Confirm the payment date and amount.
  5. If switching insurers, check that replacement cover is confirmed before cancelling existing cover to avoid an unintended gap.

Use the full caravan insurance checklist to prepare details, then explore current providers if you want additional quotes.
