Australia's Registered RV Fleet
The Caravan Industry Association of Australia reported that the registered RV fleet increased by 4% to approximately 937,000 vehicles in 2025. This included more than 817,000 towable RVs and 119,000 motorised RVs.
Trips, Nights and Spending
Tourism Research Australia reported 17.3 million domestic caravan and camping overnight trips in the year ending December 2025, up 14% for the year. Travellers spent 57.9 million nights away and $12.6 billion on those trips.

Regional Australia
Regional Australia received 87% of caravan and camping visitor nights. Tourism Research Australia also reported that 83% of spending while travelling, or $8.6 billion, occurred in regional Australia.
Manufacturing and Supply
Australian manufacturers produced 23,963 RVs in 2025. Towable vehicles accounted for 96% of production, while caravan production increased by 7.3% to 18,438 units. Caravan trailer and component imports increased by 16% to 23,244 units.
