How We Research Our Information
Read the editorial and research process used for provider listings, insurance guides, statistics, updates and corrections.
Provider Research
We identify providers through market research, insurer websites, policy document libraries, state motoring organisations and specialist underwriting agencies. Inclusion is based on evidence of a relevant published product or service, not payment.
Preferred Sources
We prefer primary sources such as provider product pages, Product Disclosure Statements, Target Market Determinations and official contact pages. Government, regulator and recognised industry sources are preferred for general insurance explanations and statistics.
Information, Not Recommendations
The directory is alphabetical and unranked. We do not rank providers or describe products as best, cheapest or most comprehensive unless such claims can be supported by a clear methodology and reliable evidence. Inclusion is not a recommendation or endorsement.
Review and Update Practice
Important directory fields display the date they were last checked. We review editorial pages periodically and when we become aware of changes to product terminology, authoritative guidance or linked sources. Statistics identify their source period and are not presented as current beyond it.
Corrections
Readers and providers can report outdated information. We check the relevant source, correct confirmed material errors and update the applicable checked date. Advertising does not influence whether corrections are made.
